Your Child ~ Your Responsibility ~ Your Taxes Your Decision
Kansas Educational Freedom is a movement that works hard to give parents the power in education. The movement began after it was realized that parents that choose private or home-school education are penalized for their choices in education. These parents are penalized because they pay more toward education than the parents of children who attend public school. In other words parents that choose private education pay taxes for public education as well as tuition toward the private institution. In the same way, parents that home-school their children pay taxes, that in part go toward public education, as well as paying for supplies and curriculum material.
KEF Movement Objective
Kansas Educational Freedom Movement is pursing educational freedom for all children and parents in Kansas. With legislators, citizens, and parents, we work toward an education system that works for all our children and their caretakers.
Our main objective is to create legislation that gives parents the right to pursue the education that it suited to their child’s specific needs, without penalty. In addition KEF would like to see a curriculum expense reimbursement for those who prefer home-school education. Finally, KEF also strives to protect family values by advocating creationism and morality in the public school system.
